hey, my name is Cam, aka, 90_acura_da or HammerTime, lol. im making the drive from Winnipeg to Vancouver in a day or two, to live there permanently. My question is how fussy is it in BC for mods on your G2s, ex… suspension, exhaust, JDM headlights, etc…? i just got a Catalytic Converter put on my car the other day, so i should be good there for emissions. but any other help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Also if theres any shows coming up or meets, it’d be great to meet you some of you guys/cars in person. thanks in advance

PS… heres a picture of my car, so if you see me driving by, you know i made the trip. lol.
Where abouts are you going to be staying in vancouver? Whereabouts you going to hanging out most of the time? bascially vancouver is pretty lax about mods…as long as you’re not too loud and drive civilized you tend to be left alone. However, ESPECIALLY in richmond, if you ever get pulled over or encounter any road blocks, then you may get hassled. if you get pulled over for an offence, then you may be hassled, and if you’r eunlucky you may get towed.
sweet car man. I’m in vancouver as well. I’m in Vancouver Vancouver, not abby or maple ridge, surrey etc. I haven’t seen too many modded G2’s in this area infact i think I may be one of very few
Since I started modding my car I have never been hassled. Never for being to loud or being to low. IMO its pretty lax as long as your not trying to get attention.
anyways If your in the area of UBC, Kits, or kerrisdale let me know, maybe we can do a shoot or something.
I’m in whiterock, but i’m in vancouver 7 days a week!
I don’t know what it is, but I don’t see many modded G2s around either… it’s weird… sometimes i think i’m the only one, but i know there are people out there!

not really too fimilar with Vancouver, but im going to be on the English bay in a Condo. Winnipeg is pretty crazy expecially right now with Mods on cars. last Sunday Cops had a set up outside of a Charity Car show, waiting for people to leave, they handed out about 110 fines from having no front license plate, to no baffles in your exhaust, having lowered suspension. its getting pretty bad out here. lol. im just worried about the JDM front lights. i have no amber side markers. what do you have to do to get your car on the road out there? is there any safteys or emission tests?
heres a couple mores shots of my car, as asked. lol.
i hope to get a lot more shots, as im driving through the mountains. my next reply will probably be a few days. im taking off tomorrow morning, hopefully she makes it. 280 000kms on this beast. haha.
I’m in Coquitlam, but my Integra stays in Abbotsford and doesn’t get any road use.
Agree with the comments on the no front plate issue. I’ve been pulled over once or twice for not having a front plate, and a friend with an imported Silvia once got some flak for having a front plate that was chopped down to just display the numbers. No tickets or anything, but the cops don’t like it when there isn’t a plate on the front.
If there’s gonna be a meet, do it next Sunday (August 8) at Mission Raceway. Big race weekend, with a couple G2 GS-Rs and a GS racing.
Well, I made it out tonight, there was a three hour delay just past lake louise that was pretty crazy. Car was pretty weighted down, so I threw out my stock struts/springs in lake Louise. Lol. Probably was over a hundred pounds worth. Lol. Seemed to help it out a bit. Hope to see you guys out on the road some time. A g2 meet would be pretty sweet. Should try and plan one out.

Because your car is from out-of-province, it will have to be inspected before being registered in BC. Here is a list of places that can inspect it for you. Once passed, take the passed inspection report, along with your MB vehicle registration documents to your closest ICBC/Autoplan broker to have the vehicle BC registered. Because you will be living within Metro Vancouver, you will be subject to emissions testing - which for you will be annually since your Integra is pre-OBD. When you insure your car, you will only be allowed to insure it up to a maximum of 3 months UNTIL you get a pass, then you can insure it for a year as normal until your yearly emissions expire. If all you have are bolt-ons and your cat is in good working order, you should have no problem passing. Here is where you can find your closest AirCare emission testing facility.
Don’t drive irresponsibly and you shouldn’t have a problem with the law. As with everything, follow common sense. Compared to where you’re from though, you will probably hate Metro Vancouver drivers in general (as I do)!

edit: what do you guys normally pay a month for insurance here? in wpg it was about 86 a month
