I need to replace my cam seal and was wanting to know where to get a high quality plug, and if this one is a high quality one. :hmm:

Honda bond.
i guess… if its machined to the correct size… i bought the “str” one on ebay… i dunno if its real deal cuz the design is different
OEM dood. costs $7 and the new ones are better than the originals
they used a softer plastic on the new ones and they seal way better.
i’ve used both the STR and Golden Eagle cam plugs both work great. i prefer the STR since it has a bigger outer lip like the oem piece. but you cant loose with either one. you can get the STR piece at nopi and you can get the GE at camp1320.
Cam End Plug? Purchased mine from Acura for $7, I could get you the part # if you want, but don’t have it on me right now.
The original design is poor, if you go to the dealer and ask for one from a 96+ GSR, this is the one I’m talking about. It is plastic with an o-ring, and since I changed mine, I haven’t had any leaking at all.

di i need to crack open the head to replace it or is it as simple as pull the old plug out and plug in the new one :hmm:
Pull the valve cover. Then, remove the cam retainer on the passenger side, on the exhaust cam, over top of where the cam end plug is on the block. After doing this, you will be able to take the plug out easily, and put the new one in.
In this picture, I believe it would be the two bolts in the bottom left corner, on the last exhaust cam retainer labeled “E6”.
No removal of the cylinder head is necessary. This is just a quick explanation, if you need a more detailed explanation, you can find that on the boards as well.

Okay, i know i’m completely hijacking the thread, but that picture is perfect…What is the function of the plastic yellow cap on top of the left side of the fuel rail??
