hey guys, I have only 1" drop on the fron and the back (H&R OE sports) that resulted in a camber of 1.6 degreese. However, I wore out through one set of fairly new tires in only 13 000 Km!!! I mean I can see the steel belting on the inside of the tires now!!
So before I get new rims and more expensive low profile tires, I need to put a camber kit in the front… any recomendations? rants and raves I should know about?? Is the camber kit fully adjustable? i.e. if I drop more in the future it won’t be a problem? I’m planing to get Koni Yellows in the future, no fitting problems?
There are many different camber kits for these cars.My 90 LS is dropped 1 1/2 in the front and 1 in the rear.I left it higher in the rear so I could put my three twelves in and not have it lower in the rear than in the front.I personally don’t like cars that are so low that they ride like ****!My car still has a very good ride, and a nice drop.I have worn through some tires myself.I have’nt got my camber kit yet,but when I do it will be adjustable. You can get fixed kits, but I would’nt do if I was intending to drop the car more. The ability to change when you want to is worth the little bit extra that you will spend on the adjustable. You can get camber kits at many different import speed shops.I’m sure there are some in your area.Or just take a chance and order it from Sport Compact mag.Good luck man!!!
ProDrive, was selling camber kits like 90.00 shipped. I bought one and installed it. Now my car handles and looks great, no more bowed in tires / \ Now my tires stand like they should | |. They kit was fairly easy install, the hardest part was getting the camber kit Bushing and I guess you can call it a Camber correction Block, to slide inside the upper A arm. Good luck
Here’s the web address for that Company
hey kincaidintegra, this sounds like a great deal! I"m going to call them tonight!!! They for sure adjustable yeah?? Sounds great, they come with bushings and grease too?? Hey, can u give me an estimate of the total wieght of the kit?? thanks!
total shipping weight was 6lbs. You get the Polyutherane bushings, studes, steel liners, and bolts and washers. You have to buy the thread lock and grease (4.00 autozone). You’ll need a vise to press in the bushings. Use cardboard so the vise grooves don’t press into the steel liners. READ THE DIRECTIONS!!! I can’t streess that enuff. You if you car is lowered .5 - 1.4 you have to assemble one way. if it’s 1.5 + you have to assemble another way. Remember once it’s put together, you can’t undo the the stud, unless you have a stud remover. Once you see it it’s really simple. Also to make it easier to install. The directions don’t say this, but undo the strut damper fork, on the front, it’ll allow you to move the strut towards you so you can undo the 2 OEM bushings. Once they are unbolted, slide it behind the strut and pull it out, place it to the side and then slide in the new ones. It will be tricky trying to slide the in place. have a small hammer ready, to tap it into place. If you need help let me know and i will go take digital Pics of mine.
hey man, sounds great, thanks for the help. I’m placing the order immediatly and I will inform u if I need further help. I understand 85% of ur description as I installed the springs my self. I’ll be prepared, thanks a million!
