Camber Kit?

Recently, I installed Koni struts and Aerospeed Springs. They both perform well. After reading a number of mags, I am under the impression that I should install a camber kit to prolong the life of my tires. What exactly does a camber kit do and do I really need one?

Thanks in advance!

do some searches to learn about suspension. camber it a measurement of the alignment of your suspension. when you lower the car you get negative camber, how far negative depends on how low you drop it. a camber kit just corrects the negative camber back to something a bit more tire friendly.

like i said…do some of your own research on suspension in general and more specifically camber kits.

Why does everyone get pissed when someone asks a question about ANYTHING? Im sure the guy knows wtf camber is, since he just did suspension work. This IS the suspension, brakes and wheels board, isnt it? If you know something about a camber kit, say so, if you dont, then keep your mouth shut. Give the guy a break.

Sorry for flaming, i just had a rough day,
Scott

calm down buddy. i wasn’t getting mad at him, i wasn’t even rude to him. read the FAQ’s and the “Announcement: FORUM USAGE / FAQ UPDATED 4/Nov” and you’ll understand more.

skpdat: i did a little looking around for suspension info for you. We’ve been having a problem recently with old threads being deleted. When threads are old and unactive they get deleted unless they are to be archived. There used to be a handful of really good suspension write-ups that were very useful…but i’m afraid they are gone now.

I decided i’d do a little write up on camber for ya, and this time it won’t get deleted. You can view it here: Camber: Explained and Illustrated

check that out…you got him some info he could really use, instead of just telling him to go find some himself. I think he was probalby trying to find the info, by asking someone here…no?

Sorry I over-reacted. I guess I should have used the stressball a little before posting…My bad.

the rule on the forum is search before you ask (another rule is don’t answer simple questions that have been posted before and/or are easily answered by the person just doing a search). that is why i didn’t right off the bat give him an answer. plus i’ve found that people (myself included) will learn a lot more if they do a search and read over a few different threads. If you just ask and get an answer it is almost always a short and a little vague. and if you don’t already have a good basic understanding of the situation you’re asking about then it will have done little or no good. trust me, searching is better for both parties. It just turns out in this case those old threads aren’t here any more…man that sucks too cause there was some REALLY good info in them.
