Can anyone fix caster??

Any ideas to fix caster in front??? my right side is about negative 2.1 and it is causing some drift to the right side. allignment and camber are near perfect!

I had a small accident on the front right side a while ago and I think it has affected the geometry of the suspension little bit!

A frame shop should be able to fix caster problems.

frame shop? ur kidding me right? we don’t have such a thing here! I’m happy they can PAINT!! :0
Anyhow, for 1/2 degree, I wouldn’t go through that trouble (and cost) was thinking maybe there is some trick like a washer where the shock mounting is that can do it.

Thanks anyways…

Caster as you know is a measurement of the wheel centerline. If one side is either forward of aft of the other, you’ll have the problem you describe. I don’t think a washer will fix it.

You said you had a small accident, would it be possible to track down some stock suspension pieces to replace the bent one?

You could search around on the web for some camber kits that can alter caster as well (usually a movable ball joint). I seem to recall finding a couple for our cars, but I forget exactly where. Might have been made by SPC, but I don’t remember for sure.

If you have the time, and the second vehicle, maybe you should remove all the suspected parts and check them for bends (compare with each other…). Possible culprits are the LCA, the UCA, the A-arms, and I think that is it. BTW I’m including the upper and lower ball joints with the CAs.

ill bet its the radius arm… i see bent ones 2-3 times a week on my alignment rack. thats simple to fix even for a novice. and yeah the U&L CA stuff too… ill bet you can find one off one of the part out cars on the for sale or wtb boards.

IMO =)

well I do have the second car (G3 integra) but the time is the major problem… and I don’t trust those mech. around my area, they suck big time in their work and suck big time on your pocket :slight_smile: especially for a job like this… none of them will have the patience!

like they said, probably take things apart and find the dented/bent parts if any. i always find the junkyards the most useful. not sure where you’re located, but there should be some good ones around?
