Now why would you have to go bolt a piece in the middle of the crossmember to jack?

i have a gsr, but i also have an LS front x-m,ember in my apt right now, and it doesn’t have anything for the jack to grip onto without the middle piece.
2 questions:
- can use the cross member from a 88-91 civic hactch??
- what companies makes cross members for our tegs?
So to bring this back ttt … it is safe to remove the center beam/subframe support thingy/wuteva you wanna call it? … The GS-Rs don’t have additional support elsewhere to compensate? TIA.

yes it is safe… just to make you feel better, Dan took his off, and no problems. B R brought up a good point though… it does act as kind of a “tranny protector” for those unforseen bottom outs cause it runs underneath…

Steve, don’t you remember we tossed Haruki’s out when we did his swap? The A-pipe from the B16 wouldn’t fit with it on. Like Tony said, it’s safe. Not much of a weight savings though since it’s a pretty light piece.
i had to take off the center beam to get my 4-2-1 header to fit. and i did not put it back and turthfully i did not feel any difference with/without it.
