hello, 90-93 integras and 90-91 accords have auto seatbelts, the 92-93 accord did not. i looked at it and it looks to be pretty much the same plastic pillar cover, could i rip the manual seatbelt setup out of a 92-93 accord and use it then? im sure some mods will be needed. has any1 tried this? for the plp who did the cdn spec seatbelts did you just pull the box under the passanger kick panel out? was there a threaded hole to screw the seatbelt nito or did you have to drill + tap it? thanks morgan
?
yeah i unplugged the box
there’s the hole on the pillar, u have to rethread it to make it bigger.
then you have to make a hole by the e-brake to put the seatbelt clip in.
To do the manual conversion the only out of the ordinary things you’ll need to do are:
-make a place to mount the shoulder belt to the b pillar (there is a hole where it is supposed to go, but there is no bolt welded into place on the inside of the pillar
-make a place to mount the buckle. You could mount the buckle to your seat if you want, but it wouldn’t be ideal. So you’ll have weld a nut into place on the floor board of the car (on the side of the hump in the middle).
as for the electrical… just pull the box out. I recently helped Nino a little w/ his conversion, mainly just pulling wires from the seatbelt and abs components. I finally saw the completed conversion after he got the new pillars in and the belts mounted… it looks and works great, i’m very jealous
how do you make the hole for the buckle? what do you have to do?

you need a bolt to thread into the body, right? so you take a nut and weld it into the body. Nino cut a hole in the metal of the body, then welded a nut to a piece of metal sheet (there is a hole in the sheet right where the hole in the nut is). Then welded this small piece of sheet to the body (nut side down, with the nut sticking thru the body).
All this stuff is going to require welding. If you aren’t mechanically inclined or not used to doing any type of fabrication just leave the planning up to the fabrication shop you use. Just tell them where it needs to mount and they will know how to do it.
yeah im gonna let the shop do it, i dont feel comfortable with welding.
superthug,
I thought you already completed your swap…
I’ll try to upload my pics and do a little write up at some point this week. For now I’ve got some other issues to attend to.
OT:Colin, I’ll give you a call later.
I did the swap except the buckle bolt is bolted on to the seat hole. I have gen3 seats so they;re smaller and that bolt is not used. But I want to put the buckles in the right away.
a write up would be nice, i’m about to do conversion using canadian manual belt for g2s.
I was also wondering if we could use the 92-95 civic manual belt.
Manual Seatbelts
Yeah, me too. I want to convert and I know how to do it, but just need a set of belts. Can Accord belts be used, or 1st Gen Teg belts, or Civic. Actualy my question is this:
Has anyone used anything OTHER than Canadian seatbelts to do the conversion?
I’m interested in knowing if anyone knows the answer to this question of whether or not Accord seatbelts can be used in the Integra.
I did my conversion using the Xsi seat belts though. The bolt thread is 7/16-20, pretty odd for a metric car IMO. I didn’t do any welding for the buckle. I just found a lock washer and nut with the same thread size for the buckle bolt which is 7/16-20. I did have to rethread the shoulder B-pillar bolt though and of course it is the same thread size. Everything was a bolt on affair for me.
Only exception was the seat belt housing. I did have to fab up a bracket to mount up the size 17mm bolt that goes through the bottom portion of the seat belt housing. The top part is held by a 10mm bolt. You’ll know what I’m talking about when you get there. Very simple fab to do. I’m glad I got rid of the auto seat belts.
i’m sure any belt would suffice but it may not match color wise etc, the things you really need from canadian cars are the plastics to cover it all up after wards
anyone that has done this swap, have they maintained the plastic from the automatic seatbelts? if so any pics?
bump…i hate to open up a thread just for a answer that can be answered in a searched thread
anyone?
any one…? im very intest on doing on my 90 db1 … i cant find any canadian or jdm seatbelts conversion
Accord belts will probly work just fine. Even G3 ones probly. Just gotta try it. Obviously you won’t have the plastics tho, so it won’t be as clean lol. I see the swap pop up on ebat every now and then.
