Can't adjust my koni strut

I’ve had suspension woes since I bought my integra. It finally rides like a dream but now I have this weird problem. Upon installing my springs like a week ago I noticed that the knob that allows for adjustment isn’t there. This is only for my driver side rear strut. All other 3 are fine. I’m sure I didn’t purchase it like this and I can’t recall how long it’s been like this for. I was wondering if anybody else ran into this problem and if there is any solution to it other than sending it back to koni.

are you talking about koni yellows? because if you are they come with one knob per set and you keep the knob in your car or anywhere. not on the shock.

I wish it was the little knob I lost. Check out the picture to see what I mean

oh i think i see what he means, its that adjustment rod that sticks out of the threaded end and the knob goes on top. Illuminas have it different, its recessed inside the threaded end. IMO a better design in Tokicos part.

did it snap off?maybe you can just change the adjusting rod? maybe try with a pair of needle nose pliers.

btw, that washer is upside down. the sides should be pointing away from the bushing. and there should be two nuts that come with the koni’s.

it looks like it snapped somewhere along the line to me. can you see the evidence of a snap? maybe if its recessed enough, you could fit a small jewlers flathead in it to adjust. if its not deep enough maybe a dremel? just a though. i dont know how deep that thing goes. you might have leverage issues if you use a small flathead though so you coiuld maybe drill a hole so you can insert some kind of small bar for leverage…just some thoughts.

Does’nt look or feel like it snapped cause it’s smooth over the top. Looks like it kind of just disappeared. Thanks for the idea’s though. Always something interesting happening with my car.

bringin this back from the dead

found out that older yellows are adjusted by turning the shock rod, like koni specials (reds). To do this you woud have to remove the shock (what a PITA). Were these installed before you got your car? are you absolutely sure you had a knob there? it doesnt just vanish with no trace (of the ajustment rod on top)
