Guys if you have the mount you want to sell me, message me
It’s the engine mounts for sure. The engine isn’t straight at all. Get all 4 mounts from innovative (or the brand of your choice) and problem solved guaranteed. I have the innovative mounts and they fit perfect. My friend did a auto to manual swap on his DA9 with the innovative mount and it worked perfect also.
Btw you’re driver side shock fork looks ok but the passenger side looks like a driver side installed backwards. Not sure if you’re aware of that or not. If you’re not might want to check that out.
I’ve done the auto to manual conversion, shimming the OEM manual mount aprox. 2 inches? use 1 inch of washers or equivalent spacer to space the mounting plate up, then again using 1 inch of washers or equivalent to space the mount above the mounting plate.
The OEM mounting location for the Automatic chassis vs the Manual chassis difference is about 2 inches taller, and an inch I believe forward.
What I did to try to make it work better/not tear every mount from stretching, was after mounting everything with at least non torn mounts, was filling them with polyurethane and letting them dry and cure properly. Then filled the rear mount aswell.
Maybe your transmission mount is shimmed too much, plus the engine side mount being torn, has the engine at an extreme angle which is causing all the axle issues.
All in all, like everyone else is saying, I think it’s the mount issue aswell. But buying a $150 mount isn’t the only answer.
Email me if you have any questions I might be able to help with.
the proper way would to be the auto-manual mounts, hasport or innovative we just put in my brother DA, but you could also shim it, the problem with that is you need a lot of washers and longer bolts, the leaning of the motor is what’s probably causing your axles to come apart. i’m sure many of these guys posted above have done the conversion more than a few times, but it’s much safer and will sit perfect if you just invest the money to get the mounts… GL
You don’t need to go out and buy fancy mounts. All you need to do is:
- Make sure to use MT passenger side and rear engine mount
- Shim the MT passenger side (tranny mount) upwards 1 inch (NOT TWO INCHES).
I have done 3 of these swaps. You can use large nuts to shim the mount upwards.
Ah, 1 inch it is? It’s been 8 years since I did this…
But ditto with using large nuts to space it. That’s exactly what I did aswell. Keeps parts to a minimum so when you ever need to remove parts, you don’t put them all on unevenly.
Im just going to order the special mount. I dont want to f it up again lol. But Ill keep you all updated as to if it fixes my issue…I hope it does.
Guys, problems fixed :-). I know because I chirped 1-3 on the freeway on ramp last night
Did you buy a mount or shim it 1 inch instead of 2 inches?
i have the mount your looking for so call me or text me 814-572-8137 its a auto to manual mount from innovative
yeah just get the mount like everyone said. I have it and it was a pain to line up, but it goes in. You can get Energy Suspension inserts for all the other ones
It’s def the mMount that’s your problem and your not that low that you need roll center adjusters I’ve just heard a lot of bad things happening with extended ball joints even ones from mfactory and mugen wear out prematurely and for the price aren’t worth it. Get the mounts in and buy a pair of quality axles or just keep using advance or auto zone and live with the fact that you’ll be replacing them every so often make sure you get life time warranty ones
Purhcased the Auto to Manual mount…It runs like a champ now
