so i just got a 1991 integra, it has a b17 gsr bottom end, and a b16 head, the owner said the ecu is a p28 tuned for a b18b turbo, and the injectors are 550cc fc3s redtops, i pulled the injectors and wired in obd2 gsr injectors, and pulled the resistor box. then i sent the ecu to jorge vega at PHEARABLES.NET and had it tuned for my setup. I plugged the ecu in, then i hooked up a battery, it will crank, but it wont start, and also, the negative cable is smoking when i crank it.
what did you do with the resistor box connector? you’re supposed to connect the wires together. or buy a delete plug
oh, all i did was unplug it, where do i get a delete plug at?
tbh, i don’t know. ebay? should be fairly cheap. all it does is loop the wires. you can do it yourself. just cut the connector and connect the wires together according to color. not as clean as the delete plug though.
but with that connector unplugged, the circuit is open and the injectors will not see power.
or you can just clip the plug off your old resistor box and solder the 5 wires toghter and it doesnt cost you anything.
EDIT:: Of course, welfares on it:up:
Also, check the connections on your ground cable(s), batt. cable clamp, batt. to chassis ground and chassis to engine ground, DO NOT just eyeball the connections, disconnect them, clean both contact surfaces and reconnect, making sure connection is tight. 94
yes indeed. there is still the issue of the smoking cable. you don’t want to overlook that. as stated, clean those contacts and see if it stops
ok, so i wound up redoing all the grounds, and i soldered the 5 wires together. no more smoking cable, but still not starting, it ran before i bought it, just really rich, now it won’t run at all
alright. then you’re gonna wanna start from the top.
check fuel
check spark
oh, and is the cable still smoking?
Damnit welfare…
Agreed though… make sure your injectors are indeed firing. Then check for spark, and firing order.

i have brought great shame to thread… and ancestors. i go sacrifice now
there is a hole in the distributor cap!!! WTF?? that might be the culprit lol
I got another obd1 distributor off Craigslist for 25 dollars, retimed it, and it runs, now I just need to wire the fan up and it’s ready for daily use.
now the car blew coolant everywhere, the little port that points towards the firewall, located under the distributor is where its located, what hose do i need? is it for the heater?
