I checked this thread and it states that their car didn’t stall when it was in gear. It also doesn’t move. Can someone please confirm that i MIGHT need a new clutch and flywheel? Thank You! Sorry if i posted in the wrong section.
Try to elaborate on your problem a bit more. Sounds like the clutch is toast and slipping or the transmission is broken inside. It’s kind of hard to tell without hearing it or pulling it apart. Did you notice any noises or problems leading up to this? If I had to take a shot in the dark I would say the differential is stripped or broken but again, hard to say. What happens when you let the clutch out then give it gas?
When i let off the clutch and accelerate. It just revs and doesn’t go no where. Maybe about a cm. But when i jacked my car up yesterday and i start the car the passenger side wheel spinned. I am assuming that is normal. Also both my axels are still good. I also found a piece of clutch next to my fly wheel and oil pan. It was just sitting there so i got some pliers and pulled it out.
If this is a cable clutch DA you might only need to adjust the clutch. If that doesn’t work. you’re looking into getting a new clutch and possibly a flywheel.
If one tire spins then i would say axle. An axle might look like its good but it might of snapped in the transmission. I would pull the axle that don’t spin and see. And with finding a piece of clutch,i would replace it ASAP and stop trying to run the clutch or something else might end up breaking.I would try putting the car on stands and spinning one tire and see if the other one will spin. If it dose,i would say clutch. GL
Short story- I took my car to the shop to get my ripped drivers side axle replaced. I drove off happy with a new reman axle until when I turned the steering wheel to the right, I lost acceleration and the tranny reved high. I pulled over with the engine still running. As I tried to put it in first gear to accelerate the engine just reved. The car did not move at all.
Turned out a wrong axle was installed. IT WAS TOO SHORT. The splines were enough to go in the tranny just alittle but enough to be displaced once you turn the wheel.
