Car hicups around 3,500 rpm on highway

Ok so about a week ago I was on the highway doing 65 or so and speeding up to 75 and all of a sudden the car seems to lose all power for a couple of seconds. This happend again earlier this week and it freaked me out cause I was in the high speed lane and it felt like someone was hitting the breaks for a second. The RPMs go down for a few seconds then pick right back up again where they left off. At frist I thought it was a transmission problem but now I think it has something to do with the fuel system. It happend again today in rush hour traffic and totally freaks me out. My car is 1993 automatic not sure what model cause there are no markings anywhere. Yeah so basically its like someone is turning off the engine for a second and turning it back on…

If anyone could help that would be great.

thanks… PS it seems that problems come in waves… my radiator started leaking a couple months ago and I just spent all this money on a new radiator and tubes etc. BLAH

mine hiccups between 2000-3000 on the street. it has also done it of the freeway once or twice. someone gave a possible answer in another thread. Loook here, it should be on page 1,2,or 3. something about the map sensor grounding out. i still need to find out were all the sensors are before i try and fix it. i have no clue. Kill those bastard tonberries!

well I dont know what to do about this exactly… maybe I can check the computer error codes if there are any.

check for codes. start with the basics. check fluid level and condition. if u have the tools pressure test it too. i believe they have pressure ports on them (i don’t work on the auto trans much for the b series)
