car is still overheating (brand new radiator, radiator cap, waterpump)

!!!. i just replaced the waterpump, thermastat, and radiator cap. i even bought a new the radiator thinking the old one was clogged. it still overheats. the temp gauge will go up past half for a couple a minute or two then go back down to normal. im gonna run it without the thermasta tomorrow and see what it does!!. it staring to drive me nuts. i did notice that with rad cap off it doesnt make bubbles…Also, when i bleed the water from the bleeder valve, the coolant comes out constant, but it doesnt come out with alot of pressure. any help or thoughts is greatly appreciated .

Make sure your fans are kicking in and that your fan switch is good if anything get a fail safe thermostat. Your temp sensor might jus be old and coroded and need to be replace. There like 10 so jus replace it so yu get a good reading. Hope this helps alil

was the water pump new, did you torque it down correct specs and did you replace the gasket? Also, where did you get it from? I have had my share of Honda water pumps bad out of the box from Advance and Vato Zone…Napa ones I have had good luck with.

Also, like the second poster said, def check your fans are kicking on…that is crucial and the fan relays have been known to go out.

Yes, they are right I would look into both fans be sure it works. If you have A/C working, turn them on and both fans should come on. If it works then you should check on the switch/relay and sensors.

yeah my fan is always on. yes, the waterpump is new, came with a new gasket. put we didnt torque it down to spec. we just tighten it. thanks for the input guys. im gonna buy a new temp sensor and see if thats it !!

I am now on my 3rd radiator fan switch. I started having over heating the first time ever because my fan was not getting turned on. Check to see if your fan is operational by jumping the connector on the fan switch while the car is turned on (engine not running).
If jumping it does not turn on the fan check for a bad relay, shorted wire, bad fan motor.

my fan is connected so that its always on as soon as i turn the key ! i ran it without the thermastat today, but it doesnt reach proper operating tempature. it stays a little below from where it suppose to be. could it be bad hoses. i havent changed them yet !!

ran the car without the thermastat and it didnt overheat. im gonna try and buy the failsafe and see what happens.

Make sure to buy a Honda genuine OEM thermostat.
Most all others are crap.

bro is your heater coil, it happen to me on my CD5. is pain of a job, what i ended up doing with this problem was actually disconnecting the heater coil from the actual radiator setup. after that there was no more over heating.

Are you losing coolant at all? Have you checked your head gasket?

i agree with this guy! been there a few times on other cars. cracked head or blown head gasket caused pressure buildup in the system. have you checked your oil dipstick to see if it looks like chocolate milk? if so your in for a new headgasket at least.

Coolant in your oil=cracked block or bad headgasket
or
fan is bad
or
ect switch…

If bubbles are coming out of the radiator when you open it you might have blown ur head gasket and leaking compression into the cooling system

never heard of that i let the bubbles on my radiator come out till it stops from what i know thats bleeding the system

check the radiator the thermostat the fan the bleed the system and check the head gasket or you could have a small leak from the back metal piping where the water pump goes for somreason those were always bad on every integra i had l0l

no he is correct. bubbles in the cooling system MAY indicate combustion leaking into the cooling system, but thats given its bled correctly.

check this vid out of a b16a with a blown head gasket.

do you have oem fans or aftermarket slim fans? I just bought a car and this was the problem. it would overheat in traffic and then go back down. The fan was wired backwards and was pushing instead of pulling. that may be your problem if you have a slim fan

Knowing that u have already overheated the car most likely u have a bad head gasket or a crack in your head …true it could jus be that bubbles come from it bleeding but if it doesnt stop u have a small leak in your head same thing happened to mines im telling you from experience… It also could be that its burning out ur coolant if u have coolant loss or it could but pushing it out thru the reservoir…my car would loose some coolant after 3 weeks of driving it and i would notice it wen it did cuz the temp gauge would go past the half line but not al the way to the red…but i can wrong jus take it in consideration…

what is a heater coil?

do you mean heater core?
