OK, here’s the story, my computer burned out a couple of weeks ago so i got it replaced…car was working fine until i drove it out of the city and it just shut off…check engine light went on, rpms dropped to 0 and there was alot of smoke coming out from under the drivers side dash…i quickly pulled over and took the key out…put it back in to try and start the car and nothing. No lights, work, no alarm…just dead…any ideas what it could have been??
It’s pretty obvious if there was smoke and you now have not power for even lights that there was a serious short that has probably blown main fuses.
You will need to find what shorted out, repair it and replace any blown fuses.:think:94
this happened to me a few weeks ago. It turned out to be a the negative ground from the battery.
Hey bro, thanks for the post, so u said ur ground wasnt grounding right?? I know that that computer got burned thats for sure, and i found that the fuse box in the engine bay was tampered with, and found a exposed wire that was grounding all over!!! What did u have to do to get it fixed??
A loose batt. ground is not going to short out anything, it will not cause smoke to come out from under your dash, it would cut power to everything.
What “tampering” has been done to the under hood fuse box?
What wire was “grounding all over” and to what was it “grounding”?
Have you checked your main fuses? 94
