My integra wen i start up the car in the am car runs perfectly fine. until it warms it everytime i put in the clutch in after driving or when i come to a stop car will have a very low idle about to stall . but if i step on the gas and come to a stop the car will stAll and it will take a minute or two to start up again and wen it starts it smokes like crazy [gas] then will clear up . but if i drive normal when i come to a stop it will also stall after being stopped ilde will build up to normal. car feels fine when its cold feels like a dog when its warmed … changed manifold , iac , tb , deleted the cat , ecu , distributor , wires, spark plugs , and fuel pump still nothing . this problem is really getting to me cant figure it out
Also forgot to mention car runs extremely rich when it’s idling low I have a wideband it goes into the 10s
check the resistance of your coolant temp sensor. possible it’s reading incorrectly. should be the single wire sensor just below and to the right of the distributor. check it cold. then hot
I have also had a similar issue. I installed my brand new Honda distributor and started having weak starts randomly when warm.
I have read that the coolant temp sensor controls ignition timing according to temp and my idle problems seem temp related.
It seems like I get these really shitty starts when the car is warm or if I have been running it hard and I turn it off for about 10 mins thats usually when I get a horrible start randomly. I have a ECT coming in the mail tomorrow and I will see if that affects it at all. (p.s. my old distributor was leaking oil at the base and partly onto the connector. We will see.
Well I just got mine installed. No more knocking under acceleration, no more distributor clatter on cold startup. No more fucked up idle. I installed it and reset the ECU and everything is working good. Amazing cause the part was only 15 bux new.
I just hope i dont get any more of those fucked up starts.
That sensor is working fine on mine I have hondata s300 did my car warms up fine and it reads fine … Ok so today I removed a hose from the intake manifold and it runs perfect … When I come to a stop the idle stay rite around 800-900 and stay there while stop . Now if I put the hose back on the car will have a really low idle Wen I drive it and actually stall after a couple of minutes and after it stalls takes a good minute of cranking to start… What the hell
Then something attached to that line is not working properly.
Is this by any chance the PCV valve hose? If ur PCV valve is bad you will run like shit too.
No I pulled the hose for the fpr but the car runs perfect with a intake leak ???
Vacuum leak…OR IT WAS PROB YOUR TPS WASNT ADJUSTED CORRECTLY TO .5VOLTS
