car "lags" when flooring it

Hey everyone

I have had this problem for awhile yet still havent taken it to a shop anyways

about 50% of the time when I floor it, I can physically feel a lag in the car.
the car will be speeding up then I can feel something like a jerk or almost some type of resistance almost like the car bogs for 1 sec. then the car will keep speeding up and it might do that slip or jerk feeling again. If I go up to about 7000rpm from 2000rpm I can feel this “lag” up to 3 times.

any ideas on what this could be?
plugs and wires are 2 years old, fuel filter was replaced not long ago.

thanks

had this same thing kinda happenin to me.was a kinked fuel line.check by the fuel filter you might get lucky like i did.

hmm ill take a look see if i can see anything, does it just look like its bent pretty much?

well its deffinately time to change plugs, wires, cap, rotor…your plugs are probably fouling out while you drive… or possibly your belt jumped a tooth. or you have a kinked fuel line, dirty fuel filter…change your plugs and wires first then take it from there…

i had a car that did this intermittently. turned out to be the distributor rotor was loose. hold down screw fell out.

i’d probably check to see if there are any codes stored.
if none, next i’d confirm whether it’s fuel related or ignition. then further isolate from there

I had the same issue with the screw.
reminds me that i need to check it again.

^^just for the love of god don’t use loc-tite. i hate when people have done that

yea, I just check it periodically and make sure its still tight.
only take a few minutes and its a good idea to check distributor innards, wires and plugs occasionally anyway… especially since my car is throwing a code for the distributor sensor to begin with and I can’t afford a replacement. :frowning:

yeah. loc-tite is a bitch on those lol…
