hello need help on my 92 teg stock b18a1 sometimes when i drive and have my foot on the gas my car losses total power then if i keep the gas petal down it will come back to normal like if gas shuts off or something any help maybe dirty injectors or gas filter but it stalls out then it goes
do you still have all electrical power but the tach drops instantly to zero, and then goes back to normal?
I would start by checking distributor related parts, IE coil, ignigtor, ect, ect
heh heh thats where i was hinting at but just thought id ask first.
my car just recently acted similarly and it ended up being the distributor shaft was shot, as black was mentioning
seems like its something with fuel because when it dies out on me i leave the gas pedal down and then it kicks in it smells like fuel injection it doesnt do it all the time its just once in a while
that could cause while the ignition isnt firing its still spraying and sucking in fuel so when it does start to fire again it’s overly rich in the cylinders. something mine also did when mine went out.
just explaining how it could be linked is all.
Had this exact problem when i would take off from a lite. It would just bog out of no where. My problem was the 02 sensor on the exhaust manifold(all my plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and such were semi new). Fixed the problem and it never happened again.
A severely clogged fuel filter can make your car cut-out as well… though normally while at an idle, not so much when already under load.
