car runs better when cold?

Hey,

My car seems to run the best durring that first 10 minutes before it is fully warmed up. When warm, it seems like it doesnt accelerate as fast, and isnt as smooth upon acceleration. What is teh wrong??

Nothing. That is normal.

It probably isn’t a good idea to be pushing the teg to its limits while it’s warming up either.

hehehe I’ve done it a few times when I was late for work

As long as it has oil presure it will be fine, the reason it runs better is cause your air temp sensor has not warmed up and you car is running as little rich

probably because the rocker arms havent expanded yet from the heat and they are at a different seating… thats why you do valve adjustments when the car is cold because metal expands… honestly idk wtf I’m talking about. bW@HAHAHAHAH

Then don’t post if you don’t know. We don’t need incorrect info being posted.

:umno:

its just the oposite of after you car has been running for hour after hour and starts to feel slugish.

Cold air is denser than warm air, since the air in the engine bay and do the fact the engine hasnt been heat soaked, that colder air is thicker. in turn that leads to a nominal increase in compress, which leads to better performance.

Heres a better question maybe someone can clairify for me. If i remember corectly, colder/denser air contains more oxygen, but where does it come from. I mean how can o2 just appear out of thin air? (no pun intended:roll: )
