i have a 93 1.8l non vetc teg sometimes i can start it and its great others it dies on idel and may keep running but when you drive it it works great. i pulled the vac hose off the pressure regulator and there is no change.
do you think that is the problem,i have new distributer, wire, plugs
im pretty much in the same boat as you… my thread is one down from yours… maybe itll help
???
well i know its not fire or air but like i siad i took the vac hose off the regulator and it never changed the idle or anything so i put my pressure gun on it and pumed it to 37’’ pounds and still nothing
damn car
so i keep playing with things and sometimes it works better then others i have great fire and lots of air so i was thinking it was the regulator but i was told it may be the iac motor has anyone ran into this before
i need help
i have drove my self crazy trying to figure it out please help
most likely ur mfr is going out and/or ur distributor. do a search on mfr aka main fuel relay. very simple fix, and regarding ur distributor… most likely the coil is old and stuff, and will need replacement. best to change out the whole thing considering its old.
Check your voltage at the tps.
Check the fuel pressure, change the fuel filter at the same time.
The fuel pressure regulator is practically non existant at idle, whether vacuum is applied or not.
Check your grounds, everywhere in the engine bay, twice.
build it better
ok so i took my motor all apart to find out that i was off one tooth on the intake which was causing my idle problem. it had all kinds of power but man it ran wierd.
I asume your talking about the intake cam was off one tooth
I didn’t see any metion of this in your original post but did you just recently service tghe t/b or something behind it, if not how did it manage to slip that tooth
