yesterday i was driving and i hit a hole in the street pretty hard then after that my car started making noise and vibrated really hard. the noise was the power steering pully rubbing on the resovier.
my question is, is the shaking of the motor my engine mounts? i tested my car a few times and i came to a conclution that its my mounts, but i wanted to see what you guys thought. when i was full throttleing my car, the shaking would lessen the higher i reved then once i let off, i would feel something hit the firewall, or at least it feels like it. so i’m assuming that my engine mounts got loose. what do you think?
i dont know if anyone cares about the problems i’m posting or if they just don’t know whats going on. well i just figured it out, my right side mount busted. i had one bolt in there for a very long time, and hit a bump the wrong way, and now i need to replace it. if you went half assed on the mounts with only 1 bolt, i suggest you go buy the others from the dealer right now
Hey there, just found this post and thought I’d say whatsup. Glad you found the problem right away so now I know what to look for if it ever happens to me. I suspect I’ll be seeing a lot of this kind of thing happen with such an old car. I have a 90 and already have had problems with bolts breaking and rubber bushings cracking and failing. This car needs an enema!
yup, thats what you’re going to have to deal with. things breaking and everything, thats why i want to get a 95 hatch cause at least it’s a little bit newer. but you gotta love the look of the g2. i just need a new one. hahah
