Car Speaker's Installation. Warning 56kers, nice quailty pics

I did this a few hours ago, this was my first time i have ever done anything audio. the time it takes to for something like this is maybe 10-15mins, it took me over an hour. lol. live and learn. which is why im posting this to help everyone else who may need it, to save yourself time. i tired to cut down on the size of the pics but i didnt have any success, here they are anyways.

Tool’s:

Star Head screw driver

ohhhhhhh…

aftertaking the speaker grill off, this is what i had

there are only 3 screws holding the black housing in place. those 2 wires go on the back of the speaker, pretty self explaintory

they look so good together, dont ya think?

4 screws to hold in place, there are room for more, but i only had 8 in total.

put back in my door, so sexy,

i love it so much, yea me:clap:

well there boys & girls, hope you enjoyed, i tired my best to take pics, but sometimes i forgot. i still have to put the 2 in the back in, but that will be another time. btw this is my first teg tip so its not the greastest

Good job! How do they sound?

My friend has those exact same speakers in his car. They sound real clear. I like 'em!

I believe you can actually replace the speakers in the doors without removing the black housing or the door panel - the stock speakers are held in with three screws, but there are pilot holes for the more typical 4 speaker setup. However, some aftermarket coaxial speakers and most component woofers are too deep to actually screw into the housing. I installed a set of Quantum components over Christmas break, and the woofers were about 2.5 inches deep, which was almost an inch too deep to fit in the housings. I ended up cutting the speaker covers to mount the woofers in them, which provided enough clearance for the woofers to fit. At some point I will enclose the back of the woofers for better sound. The tweeters fit fine at the top of the door, between the defroster vent and the door panel.
As to the rear speakers, I was installing CDT coaxials, and they fit fine except that there is a depression in the housing for the speaker, and the CDT speakers (and the Quantum woofers as well) were slightly larger in diameter, keeping them out of this depression. However, the CDT speakers were short enough to fit under the stock speaker grilles.

You are right StrikeBack, i never took my black things off. I did hoxever have to remove the back of it because the magnets of the woofer were to big.

integra_gs: do they sound good? I get all Pioneer at cost. I had the highest end Premier 6.5 inch components and was very very impressed. Pioneer makes a ncie product that doesnt bust your wallet.

dirty_magic, How much space is behind the black things to work with? I thought about cutting htem up, but it didn’t look like it would gain me enough space for my windows to still go down and clear the magnet. Do you know how deep the speakers you installed were?

Well the plastic rim gives an elevation of approx. 3/4 inch (correct?). My speakers were woofers, so the magnet was larger that usual. The window had plenty of room. Just take your door panel off to get a clearer picture. I cant imagine too many 6.5s would be too deep for the window. but definatly cutting out the whole basket on the plastic thing helps. If you are set on having some sort of baffle or anything, jsut get a soft baffle.

mine are all replaced by MTX speakers. i didnt buy them, they sound ok, never heard stock system, so i couldnt tell you how much better. very easy, the dude just cut connectors and butt spliced them. im rewiring with monster cable wiring, and adding in a small amp to power them better off of my pioneer head unit.

integra_gs may i use your write to add to my how to collection

yeap, go right ahead
