ok so i was driving on the high way and all of a sudden it starts shaking so i have replaced the axles new and the diff and even put new motor mount inserts and it still shakes
funny thing is that it only does it in 2nd and 3rd is less noticeable and 4th hardly and 1st and 5th it doesn’t shake well in first its so minor id say it doesn’t matter but 2nd its like wow wtf i check my hole front suspension and nothing is loose or worn out and plus its all less than 1yr old,
its not an alignment issue because i got it aligned 5 months ago ,
so i have no idea wats wrong now :dunno::shrug:
i did have the front solid mount on before the inserts but it started shaking 3 months after i put that mount on but it felt great until 2 weeks ago ive been trying to figure it out but but i cant .:hmm:
any ideas or any body with the same problem before
well, my car used to shake alot under acceloration, sure enough it was my axles. but if youre car is shaking while slowing down such as applying the brakes it sounds like you might need an alighnment or check your brake pads, rotors and such
no it only under acceleration i have new rotors. when your car shake while pressing on the breaks and slowing down you need new rotor but mine ony does it while pressing the gas and its mor noticeable in 2nd and 3rd gear but only when i apply medium to a little less then medium on the gas .
has no no body really ever and this problem
oh and my shifter shake ass well so i put new mount inserts and it got a little worse . it feel like really bad rotor but when your accelerating my rotors are new
Sounds like bad tie rod ends to me. If you used the “mallet method” of getting the tie rod ends disconnected from the knuckle when you put in new axles, that could have put them over the edge. It could also just be crappy axles.
So you put in a new differential? Did you check all the proper tolerances and use the proper shims when you put the transmission back together? I assume you used new bearings, did you install them in the proper direction?
Motor mount inserts are just going to transfer more engine vibrations to the chassis, but you probably figured that one out already.
lots of things could cause it, including the half shaft. i’d look at all suspension components first. if everything seems tight, look towards axles.
did you try rotating the tires? an unbalanced tire could cause it as well
yes but i don’t get the shiver shiver in the steering wheel.
well i checked the lower control arms and the driver side bushing is torn all the way around u think it will cause such drastic shake for it just moving a little bit.
well net is the control arm if it keep on going the half shaft but i dont think is my half shat because i checked it and it dont move up and down.
how new are those rotors? if they’re warped, that could cause these symptoms. and cheap rotors tend to warp faster. and yes, stiffer mounts will magnify the problem
I have the same issue for the last 4 months and Im getting tired or not being able to drive my car freely…
One thing I did notice is that every time i ise new axles it goes away, then 2 weeks later you can start feeling the shake lil by lil till it gets worse…
its def not the rotors cuz it does it when u push on the gas ,not when u press the brakes, warped rotors make your car shake like crazy when u push on the brakes i know it not the rotors.
the axles were changed because of the shake and it still did it after the first seconds i drove it
changed all my ball joints and bushings and it stiil does it ???
check your rotors for blue spots if your have some replace your rotors and brake pads. thats the common issue on rotors when you step on the brakes it shakes.
maybe its your transmission i had a friend that had a 2000 civic si and we couldnot figure out whats causing the problem almost the same problem like yours. he replaced all the bushings suspension etc still shakes at 1st 2nd and 3rd gears i know its weird he even went to the honda dealership they cant figure it out. But when he changed his transmission because it got stuck on the second gear the shakes went away. he replaced it with Itr transmission. I dont know if this helps.
FYI his old b16a2 transmission had a bad differential bearings and counter shaft bearings are gone.
