If I leave my car chillin’ out for a long period of time (7hrs+) and go to start my car this is what happens.
turn the key
car starts but… sputters at around 150rpms for 2-3 seconds as if it’s going to die, then climbs up to normal idle…
Now if I turn off my car after that one weird start, it starts up strong with no hesitation every single time unless the car sits somewhere for over 7 hours.
any ideas? thank u very much.
(yes all tune up related parts are brand new such as the fuel filter, cap, rotor, etc etc etc)
the fuel regulator may be bad and letting fuel return to the tank when it is sitting. Thus when you turn the key on again it has to try to build up fuel pressure again and starving i out then on your second time the motor is “primed” if you will. Test it by turning the key on for like 3 sec but do not turn it over. Then turn the key back off and then try to start it, if it starts just fine that’s what i would suggest replacing

I’ve tried that already aswell. thanks.
hmm my bad, i should have made a list of stuff i’ve already done… but then again that list would be insanely massive hehe.
I had that same problem with my teg before i sold her. It would only do it in the mornings or when it was cold out sitting for a while. Im not sure if you replaced your coil but you might want to try that. I swapped coil and plug wires out with some brand new ones and the problem went away. Not sure if that would work for you but you might want to try swaping those parts with a teg thats not having the problem and see if it helps or works.

Haruki, I had the EXACT same problem with my Civic EF/ B16A swap. Didn’t really think too much of it since it only happened when it was really cold and only for 2-3 secs. I noticed the problem started after I had the Integra throttle cable installed.
