I just swapped in a new a1 and when I tried starting it all it does is crank. It tries to start and runs for a couple second but then dies and backfires.
Does this sound like a MFR? or Injectors? I know it has to be a fuel problem because I was very anal about this swap and put all new hoses and lines on it.
The car has been sitting in at least 90 degree weather with the windows up and no window covers or ventilation for the past 3 months. You think maybe the MFR solder went bad or the gas is bad or the gas is gunky in the lines somewhere?
Yes the motor ran when me and my friend pulled it out of his car, my car is getting fuel, if you loosen up the fuel rail bolts and just turn the key on the rail builds up pressure and starts squirting out fuel all over the place. All the grounds are hooked up. Although, on the back of this block there was a clip with a black and a grey wire going into it, and a big rubber boot around it, the new motor did not have it. It was right near the altenator on the back side of the block.
I just did a voltage check and the coil has voltage but I am getting no spark, would you all say cap, ignitor chip or whole distributor.?
The fuel pump is good, the mfr is good and the injectors are good so its not a fuel problem. Just need to know which one I should replace in ignition problem.
