car wont start sometimes

I have a 90’ GS and I am having trouble starting it. It will start up fine in the morning and in the afternoon. But in the evening it wont start. If I wait an hour or so it will start up no problem.
In the evening when I try to start it you hear the starter clicking and the stereo and lights all still work. My dad thinks it might be because the fuel isnt getting to it. Any suggestions?

whenever you turn the key to the on position, listen under the steering column for the fuel relay to “click” after a few seconds.
If no click try a few times see if it works sometimes.

Does the engine crank at all? Check your fuel and ignition systems first … main fuel relay and ignition coil, ignitor … etc.

Change your main fuel relay…same happen to me…

I took the car to Acura today and the ignitor coil was completly fried so they replaced it. They finished putting the engine back together at the end of the day and it still wouldn’t start. So tomorow they are going to scope it again and try to find out why it still isnt starting.:bang:

i think its the main fuel relay.

Put the key in second postition and watch the check engine light. If it goes of with a quiet click then your main fuel relay is fine. If it doesn’t go off and doesn’t click, then your main fuel relay is screwed.

If screwed: Try kicking the knee panel hard a couple times to try to get the main fuel relay to kick in (what happens is over time the wires soldered in the relay come off and don’t get a good connection so the fuel pump isn’t getting a signal to send fuel to the engine). Watch the check engine light to see if it flickers off then on or goes off while you kick it. If the light goes off you can probably start it. Its only $50 to get a new one (look at teg tips) and you can even resoldier the bad soldiers instead.

I got the car back after a $900 repair:argh: it turns out the distributor was also gone. The guys at Acura couldnt belive that I was able to drive the car in. I guess there was just enough of the gear in the distributor to catch.

That fix could have cost you around 100.00. The same thing happened to me.
