long story short…
- car wouldnt start all of a sudden
- car was running fine with no mechanical problems before
- just drove the car the night before, but now it won’t start
- waited a few hours (bout 8hrs), then car started
- once it started, the RPM was dropping really fast, so i gased it (about 2k) to keep the car from stalling
- LOTS of blue smoke coming out
- car idled fine after
- shutoff car, started it again to make sure, started fine
- next morning getting ready to take car to shop
- car wouldnt start again (after repeated attempts)
- made call to shop to let them know i couldnt make it down 2day, then i heard a REALLY LOUD HISS from the engine
- gut feeling told me to try starting it again
- it started
- again, it idled funny for about a minute, but no blue smoke
- shop took a look at it
- of course, the car had no problems starting/idleing while in the shop
- they did a compression test - passed
- checked valve seals - passed
- head gasket - passed
- checked Distributor - needed cleaning, so they cleaned it
- took car home, no problems
- next day, the car stalled while driving…again, this was out of nowhere (it was running fine, til it stalled again)
- now i’m stuck…what else could it be??
i’m basically taking the car back again, i wanna make a list of things they should check (it’s all free, cuz they are doing this as a workmanship warranty when they rebuilt my motor)
couple things u guyz should know first:
- the car is not driven hard at all!
- the car was not driven hard for about 7 days prior to troubles
- mechanic believes its an electrical/sensor problem
- already going to get ignitor checked out
this is what i have done:
MSD 6A
MSD blaster coil
MSD distributor cap
MSD 8.5mm magnacore wires
1 yr old distributor (recently replaced)
AEM CAI
header
exhaust
crower 403 cams
crower titanium valve springs
crower titanium retainers
minor p&p
thinner head gasket
chipped & tuned ECU (8K redline)
high flow cat
umm…i think thats it…i forgot what else there is…lol
everything else is cosmetic…
