Carbon fiber hoods-- maintenance

So what is the best way to keep your CF hood shiny and new-looking? I clay-barred my hood and I’m thinking of waxing it, but some guy at a car wash said that’s a no no.

I think it looks pretty good for being 5+ years old. If I had time, I’d post some pix, but all I want is advice.

keep it out of the sun, or at least a car cover if parked long.

Wax will make it haze/fog up quicker… The best bet is to keep it out of the sun (park in the shade as much as possible, or maybe a car cover) and keep your car clean. Wash the hood frequently with a gentle soap and wipe it dry.

Regardless of what you do the clearcoat is going to get hazy and chalky… But if you have anyone local who can buff stuff, they should be able to bring it back to life if it starts to haze.

Case in point… Here is a ViS hood that my bro picked up for way cheap because the guy didnt think the hood could be brought back to life. After a half hour of sanding and going through a 3-stage buffing process, we got the following results:
