So wait kyle, first you told him to go ahead and post up on G2IC, that it didn’t matter because you were banned anyway. Now you go on to say that because he did exactly what you gave him permission to do, now you’re not going to refund his money?
Yep, you’re definitely the most mature 16-year-old on the face of the planet.
Edit: 4 pages now and still no resolution.
Kyle, I strongly suggest making this situation right, and doing so quickly. Jake is willing to take a loss on this deal; you would be wise to follow through with that offer. Reputational assassination on this board is the least of your worries.
Of course he has to go to your mom, Kyle, he can’t exactly sue you in small claims court since you are 16…
I read the first conversation posted, not the second. Why aren’t you TIG welding it anyway? When did the earlier of the 2 conversations take place, b/c there was a thread in transaction disputes a week or 2 ago over a front strut bar where the guy claimed the powdercoating sucked.
If professional welders in the Sac area really will sell stuff that looks like that, that is shady. Most of the welds did look like they had decent penetration, but if a welder is too sloppy to clean up all that crap, who is to say they welded it right in the first place? Did you ask your friends if the welds looked bad, or looked ugly?
This is jacked up.
It seems as if kyle thinks he has an upper hand in this matter, since he has the $420. He admits to spending no more than $50 in material cost. And tells that it took a lot of his time, so he’s gotta get paid about that…
Well kyle, it’s not jake’s fault that you do not have enough skills to fab it in short time.
It’s like paying $80/hr to a shop for an engine swap that took 5 hrs, totalling in $400. On the other hand, you could pay a kid in your neighborhood $10/hr to do it and he takes 100 hours and manages to fuck up the engine at the same time. Yet he still wants $1000.00 for his time.
Bottom line is, you ain’t got enough skills to carry out this kind of project.
If this has been a learning experience for you, Jake shoudln’t have to pay for it.
Plain and simple.
Good Luck Jake,
Hope it works out. Can’t you take his mom to small claims court?
I’m sure you know this now, never have a 16 year do any work for you in the future.
ok i just had to say one thing about the welds… i have only welded for 3 or 4 months and used to work for a ladder rack company where ladder racks for trucks and shit like that were fab. and i know for a fact that those welds could be frickin clean as hell almost unseen and hold like a motherfucker… so dont try passin that much slag off as normal. I know people that are self taught welders that leave less slag than that. id say either fix it and learn to weld better before you go trying to sell your shit to other people… good luck on getin your money back
lol yea this has been as much of a learning experience for me when it comes to taking pictures. the camera wasnt the best and i took these pictures inside in a room where lighting was definately an issue. NITROUS, not NOS (i wouldnt use this shitty brand anyway) is actually for guys that prefer boost but are too busy building two cars but still wanna drive a fast car down the track. all motor is a really expensive honda road to take, and in the end, you are slower than if you went turbo. thats just not my style.
archon- im not the least bit surprised, they are all on my side regarding this matter.
THANKS EVERYONE for the support! unless kyle decides to own up to this mistake and write this off as a learning experience then im out a lot of money. why is kyle so unwilling to give up the money? i have one of two theories:
he has already spent it on something, perhaps a set of wheels for his car that i heard him talking about wanting to buy one time. he doesnt want to have to sell them to make this situation right with me.
he really wants to buy a part for his car thats expensive or needs something else thats expensive and taking a several hundred dollar hit would keep him from getting what he wants for months…
 think for a minute…
now kyle if the shoe really was on the other foot then you would send me my money back. i have things i want and need for my car that i cant get now because im set back by several hundreds of dollars. thats just not right. having the product i told you i wanted fabricated would be worth the sacrifice. but since i dont have this, im in a hole. this has been going on for several days and you still havent gained one ounce of maturity or professionality. you are a child that just stole several hundreds of dollars for me. thats really messed up man. on top of that i really thought we were friends. i thought you were trying to help me out, but in the end all you cared about was the money. the karma gods are gonna own you so bad. i hope whatever you buy with my money you get hardcore scammed on.
G2iC its official… i have the most expensive rear lower tie bar on the planet $505 shipped! thats ALL i have to show for this and a months worth of work…
jake, i’d strongly recommend hitting up the mustang boards with these photos. make sure the domestic community knows what a crock of shit “curley custom fabrications” really is. i’m sure if you inform them that it’s owned/operated by the self-proclaimed “most mature 16-year-old in the world” they’ll figure it out for themselves. even domestic drivin mulletheads.
I don’t have enough time nor do I have the desire to waste enough of my life to read ALL the comments made here in this post.
However, from what I’ve read and seen, I can say a few things.
Jake, I am very sorry that you’ve had to deal with this situation. The quality of workmanship on that piece is a VERY big disappointment I’m sure, especially considering the price paid. I hope you’re able to at the very least get the piece to a useable state, assuming you even want the product installed in your vehicle any more.
Not wanting to get involved in the more personal aspects of this debate (which is a strong indication to the level of maturity or lack thereof on the part of Kyle, I can definitively say that Kyle is NOT the most mature 16 year old ever. Kyle, having a skill (or again, lack thereof) like welding does not make you more mature; e-commerce involvement does not make you more mature; but posting stupid threats and stonewalling a dissatisfied customer DOES make you LESS mature. Being able to weld just makes you another 16 year old that happens to be able to weld; not some enlightened and mature superior being. Get over yourself. If you want to prove your level of maturity, TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!
I will NEVER purchase ANY product from Kyle or CCF, due to the level of discourse in this thread. When you are running a business, you have to be prepared to take some losses, but any mature business person should know that. EVEN IF you aren’t willing to offer a refund, the personal comments and other related comments are simply unnecessary and unacceptable.
I think I’ve said enough.
Again, Jake, I’m sorry about the situation.
And Kyle, Your true colors showed in this thread. If you EVER want to be successful in business, you’ve got a LOT of learning to do.
