Can anyone from Canada show me pics of how the mounting is installed? or how it is mounted to the body? I am curious to see how the lower part of the mounting is mounted or attached to the body.
I realize that I will have to convert the auto seatbelts to manual. The only way that I will convert is to have this armrest installed the right way.
If there is anyone in Canada that can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I am willing to trade my USDM armrest for a Canadian Armrest with the brackets. It doesnt have to have the cup holders. I am more interested in the mounting brackets.
So I have a CDM/JDM armrest with 1/2 of the mounting hardware. I have the “U” bracket but Im missing the 2 lower sections, the 2 “L” brackets I would call them. Here is a picture of what Im talking about:
Hey Daniel,
Saum here from Hamilton, Ontario. We were e-mailing some time ago re: the manual belt conversion. Anyway, I have a CDM/JDM armrest but I only used the 2 mounting holes at the front as I didn’t get any mounting hardware with mine. Holds fine. As far as what you have, I would just try and fab something suitable up that would work with that existing bracket.
Hope that helps.
Did you find a set of CDM seatbelts yet?
Hey, I sold that set to a member here from Boston, MA. I could probably get you another if you’re still planning to come up here sometime.
No luck on the rear mat/tray type thing.
I am definitely interested in getting a set for my project. My friend that is from Toronto, whom I believe I told you about that works for coca cola and took a temporary assignment in Turkey, is now back in Georgia so I think I may ask him if he would mind helping me out when he goes to visit his parents there in Toronto by possibly meeting up with you and bringing it back with him. That is if you can find a set. I am not sure when he may fly back to Toronto but I am sure he will within the next 6 months or so.
I also wanted to ask :
If you could keep a eye out for another armrest for me so that I can get the complete mounting. I plan on fabbing a replica of the pieces that I am missing from the original and then selling the 2nd armrest. I have a really close friend that is a mechanical engineer that can fab me up a replica if I can get my hands on the OEM.
Can you take a picture of the area around the e-brake with the armrest removed? I want to see if the Canadian models differ from the US models and to see if the 2 parts of the bracket that I am missing have a place that they are meant to go in that area where the e-brake is.
