cel code 15/good start,bad cylinder

I am only running on 3 cylinders. I replaced the head on my girls car. Everything there is good. But, since swapping head, #1 cylinder is not working. I have strong spark. Swapped plug(good), checked plug wire(good), swapped injector with a known good one, and I am still not getting fuel in that cylinder. I even swapped the injector resistor box. What do you think? I get a code 15, but it starts every time with no hesitation.:dozing::werd:

Have you checked to see if injector is “firing”?

Do you have 12V+ at the injector?
Is the injector getting a ground pulse from ECU/ECM? 94

Haven’t checked the voltage. I do know that the plug, when pulled after turning over, is not wet. Going to work now, will try the volts tomorrow. Could it be an old crusty wire was broken while putting the harness out of the way for head swap? I looked for that too…nothing???I’m baffled

anyone else got an idea of what PART of the car could cause this…All I did was swap the head. Other than that the car ran perfect before the head gasket failure. I dont know what I did:werd:

If the plug is not wet the injector is not “firing”.

We can’t know where to look until we know what is not happening, is there no power at the injector or is there no ground pulse?

The obvious place to look will be in the injector harness/engine harness and at any connection points, but again you need to know if your looking for a break in a power lead or a control lead. 94

How do I test these for voltage?..I used a stethoscope (screwdriver), and they all have the same harmonic tick to em??? I replaced the ECU, swapped plug wire, and checked for broken or loose wiring…nothing still. Should I take the valve cover off and look for a stuck valve, or a lash that is too tight/loose? Thanks for your input

You can use a test light or a multimeter, and test for power on the wire that is the same color on all 4 injectors, you can use a multimeter set to continuity to test for ground pulse, or just pull the injector leave it plugged in and have someone crank the engine, point injector into a bucket/gas can/rag, if it is working it will spray fuel. 94
