CEL: Code43(fuel supply)?

My ECU throws a code43(fuel supply) if I drive on the freeway for over 15minutes. Is my fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator going bad?

Most of the time code 43 is your O2 sensor. Try resetting the ECU and if the code comes back it’s probably time to replace the sensor.

i agree. the senor is easy 2 replace. just buy a o2 senor for ur car at autozone or something like that. i got a bosch o2senor it ran for 50 bucks.

i used a medal chizzle 2 take off half of the factory o2senor. because there is a 17mm deep enough 2 go around that thing. also use some wd40 on the nut 2 losen it. but i think its ur o2senor. it would happen 2 me when i had my old teg. someitmes it wouldnt come on but i knew what it was. and when i changed it, it never came on after that

I’m in the process of replacing mine right now. Go to auto zone and get a their oxygen sensor socket kit. It’s free… you just need to put a deposit on it. Make sure you lube it up good though b/c it’s a bit*h to remove… mine was really rusted on there.

My ECU is also throwing 43 and a 1. Both indicating I need a new O2 sensor

The factory O2 sensor is a 22mm and there’s a special O2 sensor socket designed for it - There’s a groove in the side for the wires.

Ok, mebe a silly question … but when you guys say ‘throwing a code 43’ … how do you detect what code it is from the ecu? … using a diagnostic tool, or through the manual?

Your CEL will illuminate on your dash. To find out what the car is trying to say you need to get a jumper wire (I usually use a paper clip) and plug it into the 2 pin connector near the pass. kick panel. Once you do that turn the key to the II position and count the blinks. A long blink idicates increments of 10 and short blinks are increments of 1. Then just reference the final number to those found in the Helm’s.

ok, very cool, thanks Jason.

That is true in 92-93 integras.

All I did in my 90 was pull up the carpet in the passenger footwell and turn the ignition key on and look at the led blink in the footwell.

Also, the O2 sensor is a 22 mm. I ended up rounding off the nut on it and am not sure what I’m gonna do. I think I might take it into a shop and just ask them to remove it (I don’t know how they will) and I’ll do the rest.

The 90-91 should be the same way? I guess the method you used was just an alternative? As for the O2 sensor just get a set of good vice-grips and clamp them on and turn. Worst you can do is round it off more.
