Hey, so I’m getting all the parts I need to do an auto to manual swap on my car and I wanted to know if the center console (the one where the shifter goes) is the same for automatic and manual cars. It looks almost identical except for the fact that the manual one has a shift boot. If it is the same, where do I clip the shift boot on to? I’m asking this because it’s a lot easier and cheaper to buy and ship a shift boot than it is to do with the actual console. Thanks
they are a tad different. the automatic has a rectangular opening…for park down to 1. the manual opening is more square. but if it came down to it, you could use your auto and just make it work… bumper repair the hole, glaze coat it, sand it, and cut your own hole. ive done that before. also the boot is just easiest to glue in. i use automix (expensive) but if you go to any local body shop, they wont charge you much at all to glue it. this stuff is used in nascar to glue panels on…yea tuff shit. some of it dries in 30 seconds too.
not 100% but it will not look out of place… i did a AT-MT swap and i kept the same centre console… throw in a boot and shift knob and no one would know… well except the keen eyes of fellow g2icers…
Oh ok. Do you know how the boot is attached to the manual one?
Could you email me pictures? inigoalfonsoandrada@gmail.com

Oh ok, doesn’t look bad at all. I just might do this and save myself a few bucks. Not unless I find a local seller that’s willing to part out with it for a reasonable price
