i have searched and came up with pretty much seibon hoods are heavier than vis. the skeleton is not cut as much as the vis hood. i have found out from most people that have the seibon hood states it fits better but is noticably heavier than vis. can anyone give me any more information comparing the two so i could make my mind up easier on which one i’m going with. i’m thinking about the seibon as most people have the vis . i also read in one thread and on a website the seibon hood can still use the factory winshield washer nozzles. anyone with underside pics on this hood?
both suck.
Fiber Images ftw!
I have had two VIS cf hoods, one on my old 93 accord and on my teg, both fit PERFECT. Everything lined up just right, no gaps. As far as weight it was really light, I cant really compare it to the seibon cause ive never felt the weight on those.

is that what you got danny? my ViS is pretty good. it is rather light, but the clear coat on it is fading BAAD though. any idea’s on a “rough estimate” that a body shop would charge to fix it up and put a few extra coats of clear. i dont mind payin a few bills to get it fixed, i just want to have an idea as to what i’m getting into here.
i noticed the california people have no fitment issues. is that because it never gets cold there? it seems like people that are having issues with vis aligning are putting these hoods on in the cold.
i dont have a vis or seibon but i kno when its gets cold mine raises up on the passanger side but when its warm its ok
My friend has a seibon on his S14, and he liked the Vis hood on my car alot better then his, from fitment to weave and overall quality.
Their all the same pretty much, their all heavy lol.
none of them are real CF hoods anyway.
Seibon hoods are too short VIS is better
i had a seibon on my last DA, and have a VIS on my crx with jdm front end…the seibon fit waaaaaaay better. iono though, the poor fitment of the VIS could be due to the jdm front end. plus the weave on the VIS has flaws. woulda sent it back if i wasnt so damned excited to put it all together
any one else with seibon?
I know you are looking for more info on the seibon hoods but; i have had two VIS hoods in my life so far. They have both been great. i have had one fiber image’s hood and it was crap. i have seen seibon hoods on some local cars and they are alright(a little heavy). If you need a place i have a number. I got my last VIS for $470 shipped.
i ordered a VIS but it cracked in transport… my supplier ordered a seibon hood in to replace it. says it costs more but he covered the costs.
^^
and how is the fiber images hood crap? I’d like to know the reason. Im curious to see why.
To the OP:
The Seibon and VIS hoods arent that bad in fitment. It just depends on the batch. I’ve had experience with all 3 hoods and all of them fit well. Its gonna be different for everyone because it depends on how correctly you’ll line up the hood and how it sits with the stops on the rad support. Its just that Seibon and VIS is a bit more heavier and I believe not as strong as the Fiber Images one.
so i am going with the seibon hood. i guess i’ll compare the two as my boy has a vis hood and give some onfo for the ones that have had the same questions in the past.
