I’m hoping my check engine bulb is burnt out or the shop I had do a motor swap for me intentionally removed the bulb. I was wanting to get my car smogged and the peckers are saying the check engine light is out and it needs replacing to pass smog. Real emission issue I know, but I was wondering how to go about replacing the bulb and how much time is involved in the task.
I have the acura 91 sevice manual and I cant find it in there. Go figure. Anyone help me out?
You have to pull the dash-trim apart, its like 8 screws I think. Then pull the cluster out. Do a search on here, its been covered a few times.

great… but is there any chance of someone re-upping the images?
It’s asking alot but I might as well go for broke.
Man I wish this site didnt get an overhaul and lose 75% (thats being nice) of its step-by-step write-ups that had the pics to go along with em. Now all we get is the X box.(and i aint talking video game).
Any plans on fixxing this ?
Neil is a very busy guy, he says he will get to it when he gets a chance… He has other things going on besides the site, so as long as it is up and operational (for the most part) then we’ll just have to make-do for the time being.
It really isnt a hard process though… If you read the walkthrough, you should be able to get it taken care of without pics.
Is it just me or is the woonroof plug, the cruise control plug and the dimmer light plug behind the intrument panel retarded and impossible to get out or what?..What the hell! All the plugs are impossible to disconnect so I can get to the gauge assembly.
Why does honda/acura make the power side window adjuster plug so easy and then they make the rest reversed and a bitch to unplug…
what gives? Is there a trick to unplugging these plugs?
If you’re having trouble with the switches, wait until you get to removing
and installing the actual cluster.
A small pocket screwdriver will help you pop out the switches.
Pop out the switches on both very ends of the bezel with
a flat head screwdriver. Then remove those switches, and with the
empty slots you created, proceed to pop out the rest by putting your fingers through the
slots and pushing each one out.
start at the left with the mirror switch and use the method kevin^^ described. all of them are pretty much a pain in the ass,
once you get the bezel out, have some one push in on the speedo cabel from the engine side and that should give you another inch or 2 to get your hand in there to unplug the cluster
