wzup fellas…i was tryin to change my fuel filter today but i cant take off the bolt for the fuel line going in (the larger one). How da hell did u guys take yourz off? Also, did you take the fuel lines themselves out of the metal sleeves? I was just wondering because if you could the it would make it a HELL of alot easier to take off the bolts cause I would be able to place the old filter on a stationary vise. thanks alot fellas. One more question, where exactly is the PCV valve? I looked but didnt see it. Later.
you have to use a 21 or 22MM wrench on the fuel filter housing under the fuel lines (you will see what I’m talking about when you take a close look at the new filter). You also have to use a 12 or 14MM on the banjo bolt (bolt on top of the filter that holds the fuel lines on). Make sure to install new crush washers. It is easier if you remove the filter from the bracket that mounts to the fire wall. Hope that helps.
I had the same problem with that and eventually gave up and took it to a shop where they used an impact wrench to get it off. Try as hard as you can to get that sucker off yourself, because paying $40 to have someone else do small stuff like that sucks.
ya dont worry about breaking it. you can bend the crap out of it and the bracket. eventually itll pop loose. i found it harder with it off the bracket cuz it wouldnt be secured.
its easiest to take it out of the bracket. then if needed you can grip the filter with some vice grips. It might take an extra set of hands to help hold the filter with the vice grips while you turn the ratchet, but it’ll come loose.
also, make sure you check for leaks when you install the new filter! I tightened all the bolts back down to stock, turned the ignition on and there was fuel leaking out pretty bad. I had to tighten it WAY past the specified torque in order to get it to seal.

:werd: Exactly the same thing happened when we were doing Haruki’s swap, good looking out!
