check engine light comes on s3 flashes goes away when i turn car off

so ill be driving regularly and my check engine light will come on ill put it in park and the idles go up and down then s3 will flash. When i turn it off it goes away, then occasionally it will come back has anyone encountered this problem before, i think its a vacuum or something but idk i yelled at my car for 5 minutes in traffic and i think i hurt its feelings

i had this when i had a bad battery cable. i replaced th positive and grounds and it never came back.
try to get the cel code when it does happen.

well i just went driving around came back at the gas station and when i started it up the temp gauge shot up then came back down, im so confused sounds like the cables like you said but im not sure

hmmmm whenn it flashes does it feel like its misfiring??

no misfire, just drove 23 miles without a single hiccup or light coming on.

On another note it started 4 days ago going about 85 on the highway, i pulled over turned the car off jumped back in and it went away. sometimes youll turn the car back on and the light will stay on, and when the CEL is on the revs rise to 2k rpms then drop back down, It’s really hot outside today too, maybe the heat is a factor IDK

Only way to really figure it out is get the code.

so i got cel6 but i dont see how the ect would case the cars idle to fluctuate so dramatically, The one thats in the car has warranty and im waiting for the car to cool down so i can take it off.

my friend said it could be the IACV since s3 is flashing and downshifting is a little harder, i think that may be the problem

off course your ect will cause idles to jump and etc…ect is a major input just like an o2 sensor…ur ect may be faulty might want to check it out can lead to your car overheating or staying in open loop mode wich will use more fuel

and yea iacv are always problems on these dam hondas
