Check out my DA9

new udates…well kinda sorta, but I figured out my cooling fan issue. It was the fan timer because i while the car was off, i heard the fans come on and stay so i hurried and took apart my dash, remove the timer and as soon as i unplugged it the fan stopped. I swapped in another fan timer and the fans have yet to come while the car was off, so thats one problem fixed. Next problem was my oil pan issue went to the junk yard today and picked one up so maybe the end of this week that will get replaced along with new gasket. pics below some are just random

once the panel on passenger side is removed, get on your back and you should see the black box attached to a gold bracket being held on by 2 10mm bolts (circled in red)…once those bolts are removed the fan timer should come right out

part# for anyone who wants to order one brand new

Oil pan i found…ewww

Random shots i took

Got my oil pan cleaned up at work today…pics

thats the only update for now:ohyeah:

so when you swapped your steering wheel… does your cruise control still work? if so… how did it wire up ? and what kind of steering wheel is that? let me know if ya can… Thanks!

the steering wheel is from a 90-91 prelude and yea cruise control still works…if i remember correctly you’re going to have to use the harness from the prelude because the integra harness didnt work…hope this helps

New parts!!! :rockon::rockon:
Oem Cap & Rotor and Oem oil pan gasket…I managed to install the cap and rotor tonight at work…I actually noticed a HUGE difference in performance. Before my car would stumble on acceleration and now it doesnt do it anymore…only took 2 pics

 jumex ftw

lol :werd: yea its good stuff

Wow man, Nice stuff! Comin’ along great. I like how in this pic it looks charcoal grey:

Thinking of using a similar color when paintin’ time comes. First though, new motor!

BTW- You should probably get an alram & some security features. She’s gettin’ to be pretty nice; & it’d suck to lose all that hard work. Try to keep your tags out of your pics, I’ve seen your plates a bunch of times. Not cool.

:getsome::manual:

Corniest quote ever: “Get yours today! JDM is IN!”

thanks, i work a car audio and alarm shop so security has been covered …I started blurring out my tags b/c i saw other people doing but idk whats the reason for it lol…how can someone steal/find my car just from having my tag number?

***Finally got around to changing my oil pan and gasket, IT WAS A NIGHTMARE, i was all done and everything back on right, then I poured a quart of oil, then watched for leaks and saw none. Start the car up look underneath and oil is pouring out where the transmission meets the oil pan …So I had to pull everything back apart and take the oil pan back down. I checked the area where oild was pouring from and it turns out that i think it was pieces of the old gasket hardened up and got stuck on two of the studs…took them off and everything is all good now but i need a header b/c one of the studs were stripped…now i have a small exhaust leak

NASTY!!!

Nice and clean-ISH

Im thinking about ordering a cheap stainless steel ebay header but im not sure how it will sound or affect performance since i have stock cat and cat-back…any input is appreciated!

what i would do if your on a tight budget… is buy a megan header… they are very nice for the price paid… but pre-warning… when your installing it… DO NOT get finger prints on it… it will turn ugly colors where the oil from your hands go… wear some gloves or if you do install it without make sure you wipe it down very well before you start the car… but overall the megan header was not a bad header… very nice welds… nice appearance… and good performance as well… if you buy a cheapy ebay header it’s a good chance your car will develop a worse exhaust leak than you already have… the crappy gaskets they come with will maybe last a month if that… when i first bought mine it had a leak!!! it only got worse… than i bought a megan and i was shocked at the quality for only 150! than i sold that for a hundred and got my DC … Hope that helps!

Damn man that sucks. My oil pan gasket sweats, so I should probably do that sometime, but it is something I am trying to put off, lol.

thanks for the input…i think im gonna keep the car stock and try to find an oem replacement.

yea its not something i wanted to do, but the previous owner took the car to sears and it looks like the tech stripped out the oil pan drain bolt, probably with an impact gun smh…so i just went ahead and changed the pan and the gasket since it was leaking…it was brittle when i took it off :bang:

Went to the junk yard on sunday and got some matching rear seats AND head rests for my front seats…everytime i go there i feel like collecting parts for a auto to manual swap but then i think about the work involved and my lack of time :frowning:

Before

After

Probably not gonna put these on til tonight, if im in the mood since its raining

UPS just stopped by…

Yea yea yea, i know eBay headers aren’t the best, but its temporary…

The car is coming along great. Nice work on getting her back to par.

thanks…still got A LOT of work to do too lol

Well last night i attempted to install the header but i think i messed up somewhere b/c the bottom half was hitting the oil pan so i took it back off and put the stock one back on and (i feel kinda stupid now) turns out that when i was installing the old one back a few weeks ago i used the impact gun on it and the nut just kept spinning, so last night i used the nuts (lol) from the new header and i turned them on with a ratchet instead of the impact and to my surprise…IT WENT ON!!..so now i dont have any more exhaust leaks…here are a few pics i took of my dirty ass engine…

This thing is HEAVY as F**K compared to the eBay one lol

Notice anything out of the ordinary in this pic???

EW

So which header did you go with? I’m going to get a high flow cat and a header soon to complete my exhaust and I was probably going to get one off ebay. Just wondering how the fitment went and all that. Pics?

depends on how much you want to spend… i’ve had quite a few headers from ebay… i’ve had the cheapy’s that don’t have a badge on them… and no name to them… those are just junk… stay away! haha… when you first get them they seem ok… then about after a few weeks or months they start leaking… the only semi-cheap ones that i’ve found that i actually like the quality of … is the megan headers… for the 150 or whatever they are they actually perform and hold up quite well!! i had mine on for 2 years without a problem… held up excellent!! the only reason i switched was because of the way it looked… and i sold it to another guy for 100 bucks two years later!.. i upgraded to the DC sports one which was 310… for it’s ceramic look… and because i wanted higher quality parts of course… but i would say if you want a cheaper header with good quality … deffinatly get the megan!!!if you want pics of what mine looked like after two years… let me know and i’ll email them to you… just email me if you want some pics…
