Check out my DA9

Those look nice, they’re the pattern I want (aside from GSR seats)!

BTW, this is my DA. It’s a 93 RS, and I do have the cleared 90-91 tails…just funny how similar they look! :stuck_out_tongue:

Having hood issues…nevermind that :stuck_out_tongue:

when did you get fat5’s bacardi? they look pretty good. are you lowered? or are those tires huge?

Thanks…I got them a few months ago…and haha, it IS lowered! The 5s came with bubblegum tires so it’s sitting high right now…but ordering tires next week!

Bacardi i like yours better because you got 93 and i want one too lol…whats your suspension setup? i like the drop since i got 205/60/15 tires (i know it sucks)
seats are a deffinate inprovement over the old set.

that wheel on the other hand is not going to be a DIY job.
thanks, they feel alot better too…I still need to find matching headrests…i saw a thread on honda-tech and the guy repaired something similar with metal putty I think, I’ve been trying to search for it for the longest

Haha, you don’t want to know my suspension setup  why’d you go with 60 series? You know about plus sizing right?

Haha, I got heated springs, is it worst than that??? and whats plus sizing???..fill me in…I went 60 series because i got the Michelins for $40 at the junk yard and they’re damn near brand new.

LOL!! They are both pretty bad…mine are cut, but I’ve been riding on them for a year and a half and none of my struts are blown…amazing. Haha. Plus sizing is basically maintaining the same diameter of the stock wheel…so when you get a bigger wheel, you get a smaller profile tire so it equals out…this keeps all of your gauges accurate, and also your braking and handling the same, or better. That’s why I got 50 series for my 15s. Generally when you go up an inch with wheels, you go down about 10 mm for the tires.

nice progress

DAMN thats some good ass info right there, thanks!

thanks

The progress looks like it’s coming along pretty good.

A 50 series sidewall is not necessarily 10 mm shorter than a 60 series sidewall. Sidewall height is expressed as a percentage of the tread width. 50 series = 50%, 60 series = 60%, and so on. For example, a 205/60 would have a sidewall height of (205 mm) x (0.60) = 123 mm. A 205/50 tire would have a sidewall height of (205 mm) x (0.50) = 102.5 mm. A difference of 20.5 mm, or approx. 13/16" in sidewall height.

In order to move up 1" in wheel diameter and have the plus-size tire come out the same overall height, the sidewall would technically have to be 12.7 mm shorter.

thanks, i just wish it was manual, i’d have so much more motivation to do more

good stuff man…are you a teacher of some sort?

Nope, I’m an engineer. :read:

I didn’t say it was exact, but you can only get so close with tire sizes they make, ya know?

Understood, but you seem to be saying that a 50 series tire has a 50 mm sidewall height and a 60 series has a 60 mm sidewall height, which is incorrect.

Edit: The overall tire diameter is 23.2" for a stock 195/60R14, so a 205/50R15 is an appropriate size at 23.1" diameter. But both the sidewall profile and tread width MUST be accounted for when comparing tire sizes.

Cruizer, your 205/60R15 is 24.7" in diameter. That’s definitely going to throw off your speedometer and odometer. That is, your readings will be lower than your actual speed/distance by about 6.5%. For example, if your speedometer indicates 60 mph, your actual speed will be 64 mph.

damn, i didnt know that…I learn something new everyday…guess i should look into new tires but i love the ride though

nice progress… took me through some history their haha… nice ride though… good job on the upgrades… if your looking for some really nice suspension… i suggest D2 Full one piece coilovers… they maintain a very comfy ride or a stiff ass track beast on their stiffest settings… I love mine… just got em bout a week ago

thanks for the advice, i’d like to get some full coilovers, but $300 a week cant do it for me right now, i might get new shocks and lowering springs later on but now im just making the car reliable and enjoy the gas mileage until i can get a manual DA or any manual honda really lol
