Chips for a GSR VTEC

Hey…
I was wondering what kind of chips are out there for VTEC engines and where to get them, what they do and how much. Easy to install, i just started looking into this kind of stuff, any information would be helpful. thanks!

Hondata

You could always go with Hondata, it’s not cheap but I’m sure you would be happy with the results, specially with a stage 3 :burnout: Check it out

Lots of them available on eBay for $20-25. If your ECU has already be modified, then it’s just a simple plugin. If not then you’ll have to desolder a few chips and solder in a socket to receive the new chips. After that it’s all plug n’ play.

yeah, and i’ve heard that the soldering shouldn’t be left to amateurs. also, try www.hyperducktuning.com

Do you have to have at least a year 92-00 integ or will that stage three from hondata work for a 90 integ

Just bumping the thread  Is it possible to modify my stock computer? My bro is a wizard at soldering, but we don’t know where to get the pieces we need. Can anyone help?

Yup, you certainly CAN modify a stock ECU. Just remember that a redline of 9,000 rpm doesn’t mean you should test it. Many programs don’t even have a rev-limiter. If you don’t have the valvetrain to handle really high rev’s, you gotta be CAREFULL! AGAIN, check out eBay. You’ll find plenty of chip “kits”. You gotta know what ECU you have (P28, P72, P whatever) so you can buy the right one, and make sure that the guy that’s providing the kit will be providing the instructions too. Some just send you a bag of parts!
