Civic Type R pistons

i might be running these high compression pistons. but kinda having some 2nd thoughts. wonder if g2ic can help me get some closer no this.

GSR head with stock cams
GSR block honed to 81.25
Using all OEM Honda gaskets

wanted to know if the piston to valve clearance was to close

i have that right now! not put together, though. I got this setup from nino who got the setup from another senior member on here. from what i heard and have seen, there is no problem with the setup as far as clearance issues are concerned. hopefully someone who is knowledgeable about the setup will give you more info on it.

confirmed. i used to run that EXACT setup on my ls/v. no issues.

why go with CTR pistons if you’re sticking with stock cams? do you know how high your compression will be?

When you say GSR, are you talking about B17A or B18C?

Using the online calculator at: http://www.zealautowerks.com/bseries.html your compression looks like it would be ~13.2:1. I had a B18C1 with CTR pistons for a while, but it is now in engine heaven. :frowning:
