Cleaning Out Spark Plug Tubes

Hey guys,

Hows the best way to clean the inside of my tubes? I know compressed air with the plugs in but what about without? There’s a lot of stuff where the plug seats? I don’t want that shit getting into the motor. Thanks guys

Also, will honda-bond be ok for the valve cover gasket? Around the Cams. Thanks again

Keep the plugs in so nothing falls into the cyl. and honda bond will work just fine.

I know to keep the plugs in but there’s a lot of crap that the plug will cover up.

Use a shop vac to suck all the crap out. I did that once before and it worked. And as you said in your 1st post, compressed air does wonders to.

You could try a flat head screwdriver and a rag to remove anything in the tubes. And instead of gumming up the valve cover gasket with a sealant, use a new valve cover gasket. There are a couple of specific spots around the cam holders that you might want some sealant, but if you put it over the entire valve cover, it will be a pain the next time you remove the valve cover.

And if there is oil in your plug tubes, you need new spark plug grommets/seals that go under your valve cover like the gasket does.

Haha Yeah already got the spark plug tube seals and already got a valv:stare: e cover gasket but need the RTV to seal around the cams a bit, just like stock. Thanks fellas
