Clicking from distributor, won't start

My car has been sitting for a while in the winter. I do usually turn it on and let it run for a while. But now it won’t start at all. I’ll try to turn it on, it starts cranking and then the cranking stops and all I hear is a clicking sound coming for the distributor and might be a clicking from inside the car. It is a fast click like KRRRR. At the same time, the dash lights blink at the same pattern as the noise. What could be wrong? What needs to be replaced?

Could it be a battery issue? Have you tried jump-starting it?

yea, check ur battery

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing. I have a optima yellow top battery and it seems like the battery is dead. I’ve been trying to jump it but it won’t. I’m going to try getting the battery recharged to see if that works.

I just ran into a problem with my yellow-top, as well. It will charge fully, but it discharges fully in about 8 hours with 20 mA of parasitic draw. It went from 12V full charge to 6V overnight…I think it died.

I gotta recharge mine and see what happens.
