clunking starting on my right side when i am turning left

ok first off i noticed clunking starting on my right side when i am turning left. got a cv axle thinking this is whats going on.

it was off a 95 ls… axle looks in great shape. put it on. no problem.

2 days later i hear the clunking when i turn left again (not as bad as before) but it is there.

Got the car jacked up again yesterday and found A LOT of grease by the transmission. pretty thin in texture too. The boots are both fine and the clamps seem to be on tight. I don’t know where the grease is coming from. I cleaned up the axle and checked to see if it was in all the way at the tranny. everything seems to the way it should.

First… i am pretty sure almost positive the 95 ls axle is the same for my 90 da. Also any suggestions ? has this ever happened to anyone or is there any where else this noise could be coming from. I am seriously going crazy over this.

PLEASE HELP !!!

Could it have been from the previous axle? and yes the DA/DC axles are the same, I have even used a DA axle to replace a DC axle on one side of an B-powered EG civic. There isn’t anything like CV grease, should be pretty easy to eliminate if it isn’t what it is.

Yeah thanks. i knew it didnt matter about that. And i know its axle grease. Do you suppose it can slip out through the seals ? I was thinking that it could have been left over and maybe after driving it home from work it got it hot and dripped down on it. But it was on the new axle. And that clicking started up again.

ok after further investigation found my left boot torn. gonna change the drivers side axle and see if that is it. didn’t notice it the first time.
