Clutch Cable

i searched the whole site and i could not find anything about clutch cable install or trouble shooting. so let me start by saying that my clutch pedal has felt stiff as hell for about 2months! i replaced my old cable about a year ago when i trew in a gs-r tranny ys1. a bought an auto zone clutch cable ( big mistake) i know clutch cables are old school but i do not think the pedal should feel so damn stiff! i only have an exedy oem clutch! and it feels like i have a stage 3! lol i know the cable wasnt over tightend because i adjusted it many times… i was driving today and as i shifted into 4th gear i just felt the pedal fall! and i thought ah crap! the clutch cable! i pull over pop the hood and the cable is all loose and shit… please help! how hard is it to install!? im gonna do it right and buy a honda oem replacement… does any one else have problems with their pedal feeling so stiff?

when you said you opened the hood and it was all loose…

where was it loose specifically? at the release arm or from the cable bracket?

was it still attached to the release arm? is there too much slack on the cable?

can you move the release arm freely?

it was loose to the point that u can look at it and see that its loose and hanging… and yes it was still attached to the control arm. but it completely pooped out of the space where u adjust it.

maybe you should get an oem cable because it has this piece that slides into the notch of the bracket so it would prevent something like that happening.

i got my 90 stock integra from some old lady that was getting knee surgery onher left knee, so she couldnt drive this car anymore, didnt think nothing of it got the car, now after 1.5 years my knee is starting to hurt becuz the clutch is so FREAKING STIFF, ihave no idea wat it is. it has 144000m me nor the old lady that owned it for13 years replaced the clutch, its going out pretty bad now and the clutch peddle is still stiff as shit
