Clutch engaging VERY high, no more play in cable.. please help

Hey guys

I installed the XTD stage 2 clutch and flywheel that i got on eBay and i have a problem… The clutch cable is adjusted all the way loose (the black nut is all that way at the top) and the clutch cable is very tight causing my engaging point to be very high… I hate driving like this and i need to do something about it but i have no more slack in the cable…

I noticed that before i put the cable on there was a bit of free play in the clutch arm but theres no way for me to adjust the cable to make use of that free play. The cable is very tight and keeps the arm tight as well…

The new pressure plate probably allows for a lot less free play in the arm but i would like to use the little bit i have… Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

I’d double check the install of that adjuster/bracket again and the way the cable end is inserted into the arm. When adjusted correctly so that with clutch engaged you should be able to pull up on the arm with no resistance and have about a 1/4 inch free play.

that was the problem. put in a new tranny and found that I messed up the install of the throwout bearing on the old one… everything is fine now
