clutch flywheel combo ?

So before i swap in my recently bought gsr tranny i want to order a new clutch&flywheel…plans are to do a NA swap this summer…

Is the exedy oe clutch & an ~8lb flywheel a good combo ? … not sure if i should go fidanza, act, or clutchmasters

Ive done clutchwork before but this will be my first time/experience with a lightened flywheel… however ive driven a DC with an itr flywheel before, which is pretty light for stock

.this is my DD but with quite a bit of street use…i talked to a friend & i was going to go with a 12lb but he suggested 8, i know ill have to adjust my driving style but i can deal with that

Honestly, I like the feel of a stock flywheel, or an aftermarket one that is on the heavier side.

8lb is much too might imo.

Lol thats what i was thinking. I was going to go with the ~12lb but my friend is much more experienced than me in that aspect … my only concern is my launch being effected, which ive read its just that the traction window is affected but i figure with adjusting driving style & eventually 2step ill be able to adapt to it

The brands you listed are all reputable… ACT, CM, Fidanza, they’ll all get the job done.

If you’re in the market for a “cheaper” alternative, I’ve known a couple people that have had great experience with XTD clutch/flywheel parts off eBay.

As I said I’d really keep a 12lb+ flywheel in it if you’ll be on the street most of the time… lighter flywheels are for road course/auto-x cars and cars that need snappy acceleration.

B16s are perfect, rev-happy candidates… but on a daily driver, the light weight unit makes it feel like the motor runs out of revs faster. I really didn’t like the change I felt when using one.

another alternative option for the flywheel would be an itr flywheel (weighs ~14lbs) - can’t go wrong with oem.

For clutches, my personal preference would be either exedy or act - have great experiences with both for drifting (good o’l clutch kicking)

Yah i loved the itr but im thinking maybe the act streetlite is a good option for me its about 12lbs just a tad lighter than the itr
