I have searched around, and cannot bring myself to figure out which adjustment i could do, it i need to.
I just bought my 91 DA9 and the guy i bough it off of said the clutch is fairly new. When i get the rpms high, shift fast, and let the clutch out the clutch slips badly down to the rpm that gear engages. i have tried adjusting the cable on the tranny, and all it seems to do is change the position the clutch engages at (closer to the floor, farther etc…) but correct me if im wrong. when i let out the pedal, the clutch starts to engage and i dont have to let out the pedal very much more before it is fully engaged. is there any way to adjust that? there is probly 2 inches maybe a little more of free play at the begining of pushing the clutch after i adjusted it at the tranny, may have been there before just dont remember
Shifting fast on a bad clutch or just shifting fast at all would destroy a clutch if you keep doing it,stop being so hard on the car man. Now you said you adjusted the cable already? There should only be about an inch of free play. You’re going to have to change the clutch if its still slipping after adjusting.
Sounds like the clutch wasn’t broken-in properly. If they aren’t broken in right, they will start to slip very early. Plus hard shifting on a bad clutch will naturally make it slip.
I understand I am running it hard no debating that. But why is there “so little” clutch? Like only an inch of the pedal swing engages or disengages the clutch, not much at all
Like i said, there should only be about an inch of free play before you feel the clutch. Its possible the guy you got the car from fibbed to you about replacing the clutch so you can buy it (“not in a bad way” being that you don’t know much about clutch’s) i say he got one over on you.
Ok that is a diagram. What do I adjust loosen locknut a and screw the switch in? And what is the goint to adjust? Having more clutch so the engagement itsnt only an inch of the swing? Like adjusting for wear?
