Clutch

how much power do you think a stock integra clutch would hold b4 it starts slipping?

going to spool my car, and were would be a good place to get a clutch that will hold about 230whp?..

a stock clutch would only hold at max probably 160-70 whp but the XTD Stage 3 clutches hold DAMN well from ebay. The only problem is is that they only have about 20,000 miles worth of life on em, or even less depending on how u drive on it.

well it’s my daily driver so im going to need it to last a little longer then that, any others i can get?..

they have more then 20K of life on them, but they are a great clutch for the price

i had a stage 4 six puck on my last build and i loved it

well it didnt last very long on mine with my 115 shot of nitrous on it.

nitrous is hard on anything, includeing a clutch

turbo is slowly building power as nitrous is almost instant and harder on probably 80% of engine components

no offense but dropping a clutch is dropping a clutch. Its still a harsh engagement whether its with nitrous or a turbo. When u drop the clutch with a turbo ur somewhat spooled are u not? Theres still a firece engagement but i guess it really just depends on how much power and torque ur making. And with my shot i was probably more powerful and more torquey then a lot of turbo setups are.

atleast budget wise.

no your not spooled, a turbo doesnt build boost without load unless you have anti-lag

my last build was around 4.5K (maybe a little less) in parts, 350+HP, and the stage 4 xtd clutch held great, just like the 4 puck that was in it before the build (i like puck clutchs because they seem to hold up better)

i’ve had nitrous setups as well and know for a fact they are harder on a motor/tranny then 90% of turbo setups, if nothing else then the simple fact of instant vs building power

90psi of compression on the motor and a blown clutch has proven it (the one with nitrous)

i do agree that dumping a clutch is still dumping a clutch though

if the car is your DD the xtd will do just fine, and 20K with how most people drive is still approximately 2 years of life in it for a pretty decent price

i wouldnt mind 20k but i do tons of driving i bought my car in march with 260,000 and now i have over 280, so i do lots of driving so is there one that will last longer, or should i just settle down on my driving?

well dont drive like your at the drags every day and you’ll get alot more life out of it

i know about drivein alot, i put 8K in a month on one of the cars i bought

puck clutchs, to me, seem to last longer. i’d either suggest getting a puck clutch rated for more power then you plan to have, or settle down a bit and get somethin else

clutch life depends on break in, driveing habits, and weither the person knows how to drive a clutch. someone who burns it from take off everytime (like my girlfriend) will get alot less life out of a clutch

do you plan on puttin it in yourself? if so i would say the XTD would be the one for the job and its cheap, if not, talk to whoever is doing the job for you and see what they reccomend
