This thread sounds like what happened to my boss. His car wouldn’t run and he tried everything. I told him to check his timing belt making sure it didn’t jump time. He said he did.
6 months later, I went to his house and the first thing I did was check his belt, it jumped worst than yours. I reset everything and it fired to life.
The cam timing in relation to the crank should be one of the first things to check if you know you are getting fuel and fire. Glad you found the problem.
Just curious, does your car need the adjustable cam gears? If not, that is something that could slip in the future and leave you stranded. I know the gears didn’t slip in this instance, you can see they are still at 0. But you might want to use stock gears or ones that have more fasteners to ensure they don’t slip in the future.
the cams came with the gears already on them, they are crower stage1’s. never really did anything with the gears. i am just hoping nothing got damaged inside right now. What would cause it to jump though?
i am probably going to be working on it tommorow. so i’ll see how it goes.
