Well guys I need help with installing my cold air intake, my main concern is the hoses, what do i need to disconnect and or leave connected? Pics would greatly be appreciated. I have the intake off already its just the hoses that im worried about. tia.
Ok there should hve been 3 hoses attached to your stock intake. The 2 smaller ones closer to the throttle body are vacum lines and need to be connected to the CAI. The bigger pipe that was connected the the stock intake is a breather for the valve cover and that also needs to be connected to the CAI. And thats it. If your new CAI has only 2 spots for hoses, use a “T” connector to connect the 2 small hoses to and then one small hose from the “T” connector to the CAI. Hope that helped??!
as mentioned before in another post, check the SEARCH, this is a weekly inquiry.

the 2 small ones is not necessary… just make sure you get the big one. otherwise you’ll lose oil
One of the hoses connects to an attachment on the throttle body. It is kinda neccessary for a couple reasons: 1. what it does it keeps the valve in the throttle body that lets air in from closing too fast when you let off the gas (the reason is that if you have a sudden loss of air then you will have a small jerk when theer is no more air to the engine) 2. comfort of not having that small jerk…i dunno if it does anything for performance (i think you can get one of those mini-filters from your auto parts store and stick it on there (the throttle body) instead of connecting the line from the intake to the part i’ve been talking about…i’m not sure tho
